Simple Woman's Daybook

OK, this picture is not at all like me... I love looking at pictures like this, but with my waistline it just wouldn't be the same :)   I am currently seated at my computer at work leaning back in my "executive-looking" comfy chair with jeans, t-shirt and workboots and typing away.  That's what I look like doing this activity. And if I wasn't at work then I'd look a little like this - minus the pink robe, hair rollers and fuzzy bunny slippers.

I'd probably still be in jeans and a t-shirt.
Wouldn't I be a great candidate for a "makeover" on one of those shows where they take frumpy-looking ladies and turn them into over-dressed frumpy-looking ladies?

I came across this super cool idea on:

so stop by and join the fun!

January 21, 2010

Outside my window... The sun is shining off the snow making it even more bright and after days of grey this is a welcome change.
I am thinking... There is something more that I should be doing to help my family financial situation. I know I work full time and if I take on anymore it will take me away from my sweetie even more hours, but we want to get out of debt and it seems this is the only way to accomplish the task.
I am thankful for... My wonderful Sweetie, for my precious family, for God keeping me healthy and able to work when so many around us are suffering because of the financial problems in our country. For the Lord giving us a little patch of ground to plant with seed and raise chickens and for good friends too and for lots more
From the learning rooms… OK, I don’t home school, but I do teach Sunday School. We are learning the books of the Bible by singing a little song. They especially like the minor prophets.
From the kitchen... We always have lots of veggies and last night we ate pork/a stir fry of mushrooms, pepper, green onions and snap peas and some steamed brussel sprouts. I have leftovers for lunch today. Tonight it’s time to make more banana bread.
I am wearing... Jeans, long sleeved t-shirt (blue stripped) and a fleece vest and work boots… in the office
I am creating... I am working on a sleeper for a friend who is expecting in February. We’re having a shower for her next week
I am going... Home tonight in the dark… yuk… soon it will be light enough for me to get home before dark.
I am reading... The Bible chronologically nothing else at this time, but I do love to read.
I am hoping... That this summer we’ll get into our home and be able to have people over for fun times.
I am hearing... Fellow workers talking quietly on the phones taking orders, typing on computers and the tap of my own keyboard.
Around the house... We’re getting about 22 eggs/day now. We sold all the ones we had in the fridge… 7doz… yesterday. For neighborhood people $2.50/doz and for church folks $2.00/doz. Seems that business is picking up and that the chickens will be paying their own way soon.
One of my favorite things... I love to sew and have been able to do a little. Friday we’re getting together at Betty’s to sew… yea!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Sewing night on Friday night at Betty’s. Moving furniture out of the storage unit Saturday (if the trailer is fixed). The weekend is coming… yea!!

At the end here I'm supposed to add a picture for thought...

This is one of the pictures off the BBC website from Haiti.

"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger;
and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. "
John 6:35

Love ya all... have a great weekend!!!
